Pros
There are definitely some perks to working at IM: free Monday lunch, good location etc. Almost every review hits upon the key things worth mentioning here so I'll save most of my words for the next section.
Cons
The company has just announced yet another wave of redundancies, mostly in tech. The whole of data science and data engineering has been closed down. Its been absolutely awful seeing good, hardworking people being offloaded in the way they have been. The exec team has always preached that first and foremost Infectious Media is a tech company. Well, having just made a significant number of people in the tech team redundant, it would appear that this is a very confused message. There is a complete lack of direction from upper management. Transparency has somewhat improved over the last year but we are almost 2 months into the current financial year and at this time, there have yet to be any company objectives announced. The company is definitely making strides in adopting a new modular approach to business, but in light of the recent redundancies in tech, does that mean management are considering dropping the in house bidding platform???? Very very little opportunity to advance. Furthermore, 'senior' position titles and pay rises are often bestowed upon people right after the company has had to make cuts. They very much appear to be token gestures that are simply trying to prevent a wave of resignations. These sort of pay rises and promotions mean that managers lack experience and can't support their team members. The loss of key clients, combined with weak management, means many teams are utterly fragmented. Morale is low and many people feel lost.
