Inflow Response
10yIt’s always disappointing to hear of a employee that had a bad experience with Inflow. I wish you had expressed your concerns when you worked here so that I could have addressed them. You are correct, that working at Inflow isn’t for everyone. However, we are committed to creating a creative, transparent and collaborative environment for all of our employees. We are a company that embraces change and excellence and we are always striving for improvement - whether that be in the office environment, client results or staff training and skills.
You mention in your review about staff that put their heads down and churn out work. Unfortunately for some staff, we’ve had times where we have had more client work than resources and it has required some long hours and a focused effort to get all the work completed. However, we actively recognize that this is not a sustainable situation and is not the work culture we want to encourage. It is also not presently the situation, thankfully. As a result we hired an outside expert to conduct an anonymous Culture Survey to identify what was and wasn’t working. We learned that 81% of staff like the flexibility and transparency of the company. The staff like the structure, the constant change, and that collaboration is encouraged. Areas of concern were the need for clearer career paths, different levels of skilled staff members, regular reminders of the vision for the company, a review of the benefits/bonus structure and more coaching from the leadership team.
Based on the results, the leadership team has developed an aggressive action plan to address the concerns and make improvements to everything from Office Hipness (games, air hockey tables, coloring books, Wii etc.) to all-hands meetings that are very transparent with financial, client and staff success and changes. One of our first goals was to make it “fun” in the office and create the opportunity for our hard working staff to take a break. There is an on-going chess game and usually some staff playing Wii, air hockey and darts!
To further demonstrate our commitment to the company's culture, we have purchased culture software that not only allows us to complete anonymous surveys to track our progress in creating a place people want to be, but also gives insight to how each individual is motivated and how they make decisions. This information is open to everyone in the company.
We are not perfect and there will always be areas of improvement that need to be addressed by the leadership team. Inflow will not be for everyone, but for those that do choose to work here we want them to have fun, be constantly learning and feel valued.
