Pros

The only pro for working at Infozen, is that it is contracted to US Customs. I worked at US Customs for 4 different contractors a total of 23 years, and I loved working for them, just not this contractor.

Cons

Infozen is a contractor for US Customs. It was the 4th contractor I worked for in 23 years in the US Customs office. I was only employed by Infozen 2 years of those 23 years. I had to contact them several times to correct my timesheet. When my sister-in-law died, I had to send them the page out of the employee handbook about bereavement pay. I worked Sundays and everytime there was 5 Sundays in a month, my paychecked was shorted. I found a folder with proof that someone was emailing the general manager everytime a mistake was made at work, saying that I made it. When I contacted Human Resources about someone that was bullying me, I was fired.

Pros

I have been with InfoZen for five years as a full-time employee. It has been the best job I’ve ever had, doing what I love to do, working with very professional people who “get” me. This is a great place to work. Very collegial and professional environment. A growing company with a great future ahead.

Cons

I don't have any cons to express. Self-starters and motivated people do well here.

Pros

Systems are very stable. InfoZen is willing to sponsor employees to get security clearances. It took over 4 months. but they are one of the few places in town willing to sponsor security clearances for those who don't have them, as it is mandatory for the job. There is a variety of skilled employees working there, as they tend to try to higher skill sets than are actually used to perform the job.

Cons

No raises, no promotions, for years at a time, they let good, deserving workers walk out the door over such issues. They don't promote from within, instead the government leads (non InfoZen) are usually former military with enough 'points'. The government leads do no actual work and the Maryland location gets special treatment vs the Colorado location is treated like the 'red-headed step child' by management on the East coast. Like most government jobs, the job is 'dumbed' down so much (segmented) that it takes dozen of people to do something that would have been accomplished by one person in the corporate world. There is never enough staff for people to be able to take vacations and holidays without difficulty. Training and the departments performing more advanced technical work is promised each year and then never delivered, partly due to the lack of staffing.
