Pros

Benefits are pretty good. Pay for upper management is decent/comparable for the area. The employees are kind of like a dysfunctional family, which I enjoy. The schedule is super flexible which is the main reason I’ve stayed. And the job itself is easy.

Cons

Shoplifters are dangerous and run rampant. Our hands are tied as far as they’re concerned. That’s a corporate/not store level problem. Seniority/favoritism matters the most as far as scheduling and job advancement goes. Base pay for lower level associates is not good and we get a lot of low quality candidates.

Pros

-Rotating Weekends (Work Sat/Off Sun then Off Sat/Work Sun) -Flexible Scheduling

Cons

-You are expected to do a lot of work for very little pay -Being promoted is extremely unlikely and any wage increases is purely for inflation, not because they think you deserve it. -If you do not fight for higher wages they will not give it (I knew someone who has worked full-time in the deli for years longer than I, but somehow he made less than me) - Deli Management is very clique like, the assistant store manager has many complaints filed against him. -Expected to work holidays, no holiday pay or overtime (ever)
