Pros
-Very sick patient population makes for a challenging work environment -Teaching campus encourages learning across the career spectrum -Job retention is not a problem
Cons
-Administration does not value staff in the slightest -Aims to hire 40% new grad RNs and staff low numbers to boost productivity- no value for experience or a safe, supportive work environment -Process changes are completely inflexible, clearly aim only for monetary gain as opposed to patient and staff experience -Health insurance is horrible, benefits are mostly at the bare minimum, salary does not encourage staff retention -High turnover rate due to all of the above -Hospital culture is very contentious, there is constant friction between units and staff
