Pros

Pay is okay however in my opinion not worth it considering the constant abuse you are subject to by both the general public and the company

Cons

Senior management are awful. Bullying and harassment in the workplace is constant. As Health advisors we are chased to take calls by managers. The company have recently taken away paid breaks. Only cares about numbers, not as individuals. Do not fall into the trap of thinking this is a company that look after there staff - they do not

Dear colleague, We’re sorry to hear of your experiences. If people see or experience bullying or harassment in the workplace its vital that they report it so it can be dealt with in line with our code of conduct. We also participate in the national Freedom To Speak Up initiative so colleagues can raise concerns anonymously if they prefer. Our CEO Andrew Catto would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to listen further about your experiences and has asked that you contact him – andrew.catto@ic24.nhs.uk – to arrange a conversation. In our most recent Back to the Floor initiative Andrew chose to spend his time in one of our contact centres to understand the experiences of our NHS 111 teams, but we acknowledge that there’s always more our Executive team and senior leaders can do to be visible to our front-line teams. On the topic of breaks, they should be planned in exactly the same way they always have been, while we look to move towards being able to allow a more autonomous way of our 111 teams choosing when they take short (paid) breaks.

Pros

Autonomy, most colleagues are very respectful and friendly.

Cons

Senior management is chaotic. Major operational changes are rolled out without proper thought being out into the processes associated with said change. Senior management in cliques. No repercussions for those at the top who are completely unprofessional and incompetent. And people who challenge the norm are overlooked for promotions

Pros

IC24 has a really positive team culture, with friendly and supportive colleagues who make a big difference to the working environment. It’s a collaborative place to work, and people are generally willing to help each other out, especially during busy periods. There is also flexibility around working hours, which supports a good work-life balance. Management are approachable and open to conversations, and there is a clear effort to support staff and maintain a positive working environment.

Cons

The role can be fast-paced at times, with workload levels varying depending on demand. This can require good organisation and adaptability, but it also keeps the work interesting and varied.
