Pros
Part of larger corporation, access to resources, benefits and growth markets. My function was solid and pockets of others. We had a lot of new leaders that had developed me in ways that I had not even considered. Bringing in outside leaders and skills opened my eyes but not everyone has been exposed or come on board.
Cons
Poor misaligned L1 executive leadership. This leads to a lot of changes that need to happen having to be slowed or not happening because the old timers make a big deal out of everything. When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING. If it is different they are either threatened because it wasn’t their idea or just don’t want to hear it and punish those that know what they are doing by making their lives miserable complaining to their managers, leaders and HR constantly.
