Pros

Interdependence’s evolution into what it is today, is great to see. The people are kind, smart and want to do good work. Like many agencies, there are obviously growing pains and there will obviously be disgruntled employees who may have left with a bad taste in their mouths. But, that is not unique or unusual for any agency. There is genuine room for growth, a consistent cadence of acknowledging good work through rewards and overall, an environment where everyone is given the tools to succeed. interdependence continues to be one of the only agencies that consistently brings in new business and they’ve upped their quality of clients. That’s huge. While many other agencies are forced to do layoffs if one massive retainer client drops them. This is something that needs to be acknowledged. There’s never been a time where a client ends their contract, and jobs were at stake. I fear this is something that has been taken for granted, especially at a time when the job market is scary. Yes, the account load can be heavy but that is the case for any agency that has the start-up mindset. It’s not for everyone, and that’s okay. I have never experienced or seen anyone get in any sort of trouble for setting boundaries, or acknowledging that their work load is heavy. If someone has a good and capable manager that they can trust, then they are in good hands. Overall, Interdepenence doesn’t lie about who they are, and it’s not for everyone. The agency continues to hire and grow and that is a testament to the opportunities that can be taken advantage of here. There is room to make change, decide your career trajectory and make an impact. It’s just a matter of being proactive and communicating your needs.

Cons

PTO could be better. Benefits could be a little better, particularly the 401k.

Pros

Interdependence is a place where you can truly grow if you’re motivated, proactive, and excited to be part of a fast-moving agency environment. The leadership team is highly engaged and invested in both the business and the people, which creates a culture where strong work is recognized and new ideas are welcomed. One of the biggest strengths of the company is the level of ownership employees are given. You’re trusted to lead, think strategically, and contribute beyond your role, which makes the work both challenging and rewarding. There’s a clear emphasis on collaboration, accountability, and delivering real results for clients. The agency is evolving quickly, which creates a lot of opportunity to shape processes, build new systems, and have a direct impact on how the company operates. If you enjoy being part of building something and not just maintaining the status quo, this is a great place to be. The team is supportive, smart, and driven. There’s a strong sense of momentum across the organization, and it’s exciting to be part of a company that’s continuing to grow and refine its approach.

Cons

Currently, I have no cons.

Pros

The role is remote and there have not been layoffs. If you stay, the PTO accrual can be decent.

Cons

Trust the negative reviews, they are all true and the reality of working at Interdependence. The recent positive reviews are from senior leaders trying save face and balance out the negative ones. There are so many issues at this company I could write a novel, but the number one issue is the lack of support across accounts. I joined Interdependence because I was sold on the team structure, but that “team” has mostly been me. The success or downfall of the account falls on one person because anyone above does not actively contribute to the account. You are constantly overwhelmed and expected to always perform. If you ask for help, you will be ignored or scrutinized. Clients are unhappy majority of the time and have unrealistic expectations because the sales team promises them the world. There is no understanding from leadership on how difficult it is to get media interest and somehow manage everything across 8-10 accounts. Junior members are doing 99% of the work. I have no idea what leadership is putting in their timesheets at this point because they are never accessible or helpful. Horrible leadership is driving this place to the ground. Employees are viewed as machines, especially with the pushed use of AI. Run as far as you can from Interdependence.
