Pros

Working with small businesses to sustain themselves for the long-term is a great mission. Also, the office keeps itself to a solid 40-45 work hours a week.

Cons

Upper management is very disconnected with most of the staff, and high turnover was common when I was an employee. Management and the organization as a whole would be well-served by an open mind to constructive feedback, and by hiring an HR role.

Pros

Senior leadership is extremely friendly and accommodating. Remote working environment allows for flexibility and regular company socials allow to connect in a virtual environment.

Cons

Limited ability to network with team members in person. Non profit structure makes travel policy a bit difficult to deal with, but not horrible at all.

Pros

personally, here was the most disrespected and underappreciated i have ever felt in my entire career. organizationally, here are some larger patterns : 1) super high turnover rate: MORE THAN HALF of all staff left within ONLY 1 year, so you know that clearly says something about this place. 2) poor upper leadership: disorganised, poor accountability, poor communications, so disconnected from the realities of staff, so last-minute with things (poor planning), no mentorship. all these things are interconnected. (all colleagues are aware of this and talk about this)

Cons

1--people are passionate and mission-driven (well, that is typical for most nonprofits) 2--many colleagues are great and cool & work well together 3--projects & partnerships are interesting 4--Partnerships are expanding a lot (which is a good thing, BUT bad thing: they don't take staff's capacity/workload into consideration when taking on greater partnerships. they don't hire more people to support existing staff. so staff are overworked. many people work more than 4 0 hours weekly)
