Pros
There is a wide diversity of work for any given position and experience gained can be very broad.
Cons
The challenges of the past 5+ years have taken a huge toll on product development. Vast amounts of tribal knowledge has been lost. It will take at least 10 years to recover once the company stabilizes. The current management is focused more on trying to fix perceived difficulties rather than actually deal with core immediate challenges such as a massive rate of attrition. An organizational change made within the last 2 years was intended to flatten the organization and make it more efficient, but the actually flattening was done at the bottom and not the top like it should have been. The result is that there is now virtually no ability to grow managers, as the first managerial level in product development is Chief Engineer.
