Pros
Easy to gain employment. This was a plus for me but hell for students that complained about other instructors. Most students are very eager to learn.
Cons
A lot of "instructors" come from the economic slump. They have lost their career of choice in their field of choice and this is an easy way to gain employment. The students hate this and it is ignored by the upper management. Engineers that can't do their career choice any longer are teaching here. Retired high school teachers and others that have burned out in their field. Free tutoring lab is only available for 30 minutes per subject, twice a week. Some students complained about being treated as though they are stupid when they asked for help. Remember most students are displaced workers that are seeking a new career and have been out of a learning environment for years if not decades. Their skills are rusty and need extra help. Most do not find that help within this college. For a student to go above their instructors head and seek help, only to be shot down by the powers that be in upper "management" is sad. Students are told to "follow the chain of command" and yet, that is often not allowed or worse their pleas for help are ignored and they are sent away to fend for themselves. Too many students do NOT have basic skills and can not get that help anywhere on campus. Tutoring is a joke.
