Pros
Fun new work environment. Fast paced experience.
Cons
Often getting consumed with meeting clients and managing day to day.
Pros
I have little good to say. However, I do want to say that Robyn - whom is the only long term employee and part of the leadership team was a true pleasure to work with. She is extremely professional, a true team player and excellent leader. She is a gem in an otherwise hopeless environment which was mostly directed from the family/ownership. I enjoyed the job responsibilities itself - unfortunately, the family and hostile environment was not worth it.
Cons
I have never spoken poorly of a former employer - however, I had such a terrible experience here that I felt compelled to share. This is by far the most unprofessional and toxic work environment I have ever encountered. The family/ownership makes inappropriate comments daily - blatant racist and sexist remarks. Ownership harasses employees about their “Trump” politics which is inappropriate in the workplace. Ownership also creates a hostile work environment by yelling, screaming and verbally harassing vendors/employees . Work/life balance is non-existent and openly frowned upon. A direct quote from leadership during a meeting was “You need to kill your self to work here” which shows their complete lack of respect for their employees. You will never feel like you have “job security” - during my 1 year tenure, 4 people were fired (out of a team of 6) and immediately replaced for no other reason than “not fitting into the culture”. The employees that were not fired left for better positions. The turnover was so high - at one point I was working 3 positions with little to no support. The leadership keeps speaking of a “culture” - however, they have no idea what it means. Sure - they have lunches and team outings once in a while but that doesn’t constitute a culture when there are so many other inappropriate and unprofessional occurrences daily. When other team members (not me) brought these incidents up to ownership they were told in so many words to “get over it”. Aside from the work atmosphere, the communication is terrible . Co-working is such a progressive and modern concept - yet their approach is outdated and not conducive to the Mission 50 business model. They restructure the positions and company on a whim. During my 1 year tenure - they restructured twice. The vision for the company changes from day to day. The “president” has the demeanor of a used car salesman. Very egotistical and untrustworthy. Many are fooled by his charisma but I was never impressed. He is impulsive and makes rash decisions on a whim. It also speaks to his character the way that he speaks to his elderly mother (whom also works in the office) . Normally in most work environments I feel confident and comfortable in interactions with senior leadership - however, I felt the best thing to do here was to keep a low profile. Work hard , do my best and not complain . I tried to have the “first in the office and last to leave mentality”. It was honestly a struggle to pretend that I respected and liked this family for a year - when they were of such obvious low moral character and class. I needed the job is the only reason I stayed for a year, but I was interviewing for other positions from week 1 as the “red flags” were immediately obvious. Everyone deserves a professional work atmosphere and to be treated with basic respect - trust me when I can say you can find a job that pays and treats you better. If you do decide to explore a career with JDA - I would advise you to ask about the rate of turnover during the interview, and why the office team is being consistently replaced (which has been an ongoing issue for years - even much before my tenure). The above “cons/review” are just my opinion. However, I think the rate of turnover speaks for itself. I am truly grateful to be gone from here.
