Pros

- You can meet some of the best people while working here. - Gym in Florida office. - Good healthcare plan if only covering yourself. - Decent PTO after putting in years.

Cons

Where to start with the Cons. I don’t think there is enough space to list them all. We can start with the toxic environment perpetuated throughout very specific teams that just happened to be under the purview of family members to the owner. The amount of backstabbing that is encouraged in order to move up in the customer service and research department is straight out of a soap opera. These Upper management individuals pick their favorites and isolate the others and only promote those who constantly brown nose. And what is worse is that HR has been made aware in multiple occasions, including exit interviews and they refuse to fix the issues because these managers are directly related to the owners. It’s not like this in every department. If you’re lucky to start in one of these, you may have the chance to move to other areas where there is less nepotism and more encouragement for growth. It’s obvious that HR tried hard to change the culture and push for positive change but nothing will happen until the two upper managers responsible for this toxicity are given less power and allowed to make so many decisions. Also, they’re constantly reminding the employees, their families, the whole world and anyone who will listen, just how successful the company is. Eight billion cumulative in sales world wide but they can barely muster the thought to give their employees bonuses. Unless you are above a senior director, forget about a bonus. Forget about getting anything other than a catered lunch. And sometimes they don’t even order enough food for everyone. They overwork you and don’t pay industry standard wages. Not to mention the layoffs a year ago, the lays offs this last week but they still want to try to save face and continue to push the narrative that everything will be okay but everyone knows it’s not. You lay off 20% of your force and you’re still peddling lies. Just stop. I’d also like to address the comment left in one of the reviews by HR stating that they do not solicit positive reviews from employees. That is a bold face lie. I was present when HR gathered everyone in the third floor (CS and research) and asked us to leave a positive review on Glassdoor so that the ratings would be better. Of course new employees are going to feel pressured to do so. They’ve just landed a job and would like to do everything in their power to keep it.

Jeunesse Response

Dear Former Employee, We appreciate the time you took to express your concerns. We value all of our current and former employees’ feedback. Even though we respect your personal opinion, the opportunities given to those that demonstrate their desire to grow and evolve with the company, do have the opportunity of advancement. We have a great number of employees that have started at an entry level position and today they are part of management. We have successfully promoted over 60% of our employee population in the last 7 years. Also, with regards to showing appreciation, our Jeunesse employees receive many incentives throughout the year, just to mention a few: free products, the opportunity to travel to amazing places all over the world to assist during events (all expenses paid), department recognition, teambuilder activities, access to a state of the art fitness center, and much more. Regarding the layoffs, every company goes through hardships and unfortunately, we were not the exception. The employee’s wellbeing and their satisfaction is and has always been a top priority. Also, we have corrected the solicitation for Glassdoor reviews when it was brought to our attention years ago. This is no longer happening. While we do announce that Glassdoor is a platform for employees to give reviews, we do not encourage or solicit any type of feedback on that site. To obtain HR feedback specifically on how we can improve, we conduct surveys from employees after their orientation. We will be looking into your concerns as we always do when an employee brings a concern to our attention. Our hope is to evaluate and create the best experience possible so employees enjoy coming to work at Jeunesse. We wish you the best of luck in your professional career.
