Pros
I wanted to take a moment to share a reflection about my experience working at Johnson Outdoors.
I currently work at the company and have genuinely enjoyed being part of an organization that strives to operate with strong values and a people-centered culture. Throughout my time here, I have seen many examples of the company supporting employees not only professionally but also during deeply personal moments.
One experience that will always stay with me was when my sister was hospitalized. The company sent flowers directly to our hospital room, which meant so much to my family and me during such a difficult time. Later, when she passed away, the company supported me by allowing me the flexibility and time I needed to travel to Africa to bury my sister and be with my family. That level of compassion and understanding is something I will always remember.
I also had the privilege of working for an exceptional manager for seven years who embodied the kind of leadership that truly empowers people—supportive, respectful, and committed to helping his team grow. That experience had a lasting impact on my professional development and made my time at the company especially meaningful.
Johnson Outdoors has a strong mission, talented employees, and many people who genuinely care about the work they do and about one another. While leadership styles can vary across different parts of the organization, I believe the company’s core values provide a strong foundation for continued growth and improvement.
Overall, I am grateful for many of the experiences I have had here and for the support the company has shown me during important moments in my life.
