Since joining Jump, I’ve been amazed at how much focus is put on pushing for learning and growth in and out of the project room. The work that we do is ambiguous and challenging, and individuals and teams are trusted with the autonomy and flexibility to work through big questions in whatever way seems best for the project at the moment. There isn’t a rigid adherence to the way problems have been solved in the past – teams can pull from tools and best practices built over the years, but it's all about critical thinking and we’re empowered to look at the work in new ways as long as we’re always asking “What are we learning?” It can be intimidating when you don’t know exactly how to approach a problem in advance, but the culture is supportive and celebratory of curiosity and outside-the-box thinking and it ultimately leads to really powerful, insightful work. The same is true for personal growth and development, with frequent opportunities to get outside your comfort zone and learn new skills that help you grow as a thinker and leader.
