Pros

It is a remote company.

Cons

I started this job a year ago because a former colleague reached out to me, and I decided to give working with her another shot. She is historically known to be a difficult person to work with/for. People don't change. Micromanager doesn't even begin to explain what it is like to work underneath her. I've been doing this for 12 years and have yet to be told how to write an email subject line. Also - if you work in HR/People dept and have an issue, there is no one you can go to. You go to the CEO, and it goes right back to her, so you have no one on your side. She and management would tell me a role was so urgent to fill, the job would be filled and 3 weeks later people would be laid off. This is MY reputation now on the line. My huge con here besides being blatantly lied to about my role and responsibilities vs reality is the fact that I was fired without warning, without being written up, without committing any violent or illegal acts. I was "walked out" same day without any notice, no severance, no PTO pay out and now they are fighting paying unemployment. This person also insulted me during my termination telling me I should go pursue being a Pilates instructor instead. I took a VERY low salary because I was told my benefits were 100% covered, then SURPRISE come open enrollment they aren't anymore - even though it's written in my offer letter. Also was told I got an annual bonus and when I questioned when this would be I was told after Series C funding (not what it says in the offer letter). I took a chance on this company because I really liked everyone else, I interviewed with including Dan, CEO. You can ask anyone else in the company, I was the biggest cheerleader of June but to be treated like a criminal made me really open my eyes which have been full of tears for 2 months now. I hate that I have to write this but as a Recruiter and knowing people's jobs are their livelihoods, I feel the moral obligation to write this.
