Pros
Some employees are VERY talented & my line manager was one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Cons
Working at Killstar was a challenging and often frustrating experience. Concerns about senior management practices and treatment of staff, including issues raised multiple times with HR, were frequently overlooked and left unaddressed. Despite the importance of fostering a team with strong e-commerce foundations, senior leadership displayed limited understanding or connection to the community Killstar serves. They seem to think of the alt community as a joke and made many crude comments about the community killstar serves and members of the team. There was a consistent lack of clear guidance, taking advantage of staffs kindness & manipulating them into doing jobs the head of department should have been doing, just resulted in a very toxic workplace. The worst I have experienced ever. Throughout my time at the company, there was also a noticeable absence of strategic direction as key leadership rarely presented any initiatives or plans. The resulting atmosphere, combined with HR’s minimal response to concerns about workplace well-being, was toxic. HR is awful, the lack of knowledge on how HR should operate is clear. They are running on a clear bias, managing the staff with no respect or resolve, unless your the SLT then whatever you say is 100% correct lol. Critical tasks often fell through due to ineffective leadership. This lack of engagement contributed to a drop in team morale and a work environment that felt disconnected, with minimal team-building or cultural cohesion. I have also never met a more odd unqualified absent CEO.
