Pros

I love the people I work with at KUNGFU.AI. Culture is top priority, as we feel that psychological safety is critical to innovation and collaboration.

Cons

Client services work has challenges. Some projects are more fun than others. Time tracking is required. However, KUNGFU.AI does everything possible to make these requirements reasonable. For instance, we interface with our clients remotely instead of traveling.

Pros

KUNGFU.AI is a lovely place to work, and truly feels like an outlier in the consulting and AI space. It's a consulting firm that is trying to do things differently, and coming from a big firm, I've really appreciated that. The WLB is solid, and there are many opportunities, if you're a self-starter and willing to go look for them. As a company, it's clear people care about doing the right thing, and are kind to one another. It's definitely the best place I've worked in my career.

Cons

Because KUNGFU.AI is small and places an emphasis on good culture, it can be quite non-confrontational and avoidant. This can manifest as feeling like there are say-do gaps. For instance, it feels like there's an abundance of positive feedback without actual follow-through (e.g., in the form of compensation). The company pays below or perhaps just at market for roles in an extremely hot industry, and I think that long-term talent retention could be a problem. It's also unclear to me how the company plans to scale and, in particular, support the growth of younger employees. Many consulting firms have an up-or-out model or at the very least one geared towards consistent promotion, which KUNGFU does not.

Pros

I love working at KUNGFU.AI. I've been here for 5 years and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Culture is a top priority here and it shows, but it's also a phenomenal place to grow technically. I couldn't recommend it enough.

Cons

If you like to work solo for long periods of time it may not be your best bet, as it's a very collaborative organization. Pair programming, group brainstorming, etc. are pretty baked into the DNA.
