Pros
The advantage of working at Kargo is that you’ll never experience a worse company or work environment in your lifetime. Anything else will be better in comparison and you’ll have been through the worst.
Cons
Kargo no longer has a unique value proposition and the company is struggling because of it. Layoffs happen regularly to cut costs. Meanwhile, other employees are leaving voluntarily. Even the company’s CFO and top HR exec left voluntarily in 2018, and the company has no intention to backfill these or most other roles. When I was hired at Kargo, the role I was offered was not the role I ended up doing. As a result, my career took a step back and I was limited in my growth opportunities. Had I known what the company would become, I never would have accepted the offer. Based on the current business model and turnover rate, I don’t believe Kargo will still be operational in the next year. It would be very risky to join the company and expect to get anything out of it aside from a short-term paycheck.
