Pros
Great product, founder, story, and most of the team is incredible with the right intentions to make great and ethical business decisions.
Cons
The owner/CEO does NOT know what they are doing. They don't see anything through long enough to know or understand the long term effects or outcomes. They creates positions and dissolves them without proper strategy. If reckless employment were something someone could be charged with they would fit that charge. My position was dissolved within 10 months of creation. There is a small management team that they rely on heavily but this team refuses to give them the advice to find a proper CEO who knows how to strategically scale a CPG business because then that would mean the managers would lose some power. Honestly, I'm not sure you could find a proper CEO that would even be able to put up with the current CEO/owner. The CEO does not care for their employees, I have heard that they are known to lock themself in a room with employees to scream at them. While I was an employee they took steps to take away vacation/holiday time. The health insurance option is basically catastrophic insurance ($4000 deductible.) The management team likes to tweak numbers they report to the CEO to keep them "happy" and then they continue to wonder why the business cannot turn a profit. The CEO is known to drag their feet in paying bills like rent, vendors, and purchasing supplies in an appropriate timeline. The CEO also owns the co-packer they work with and with that comes a lot of blurred murky boundaries.
