Pros

Salary is maaaaaaaaayybbeee better than some. But you work 60+ hours a week so what does it really matter anyway?

Cons

I worked as an Environmental Scientist in the Texas Region and *very literally* did about 2% science during the year I worked there. You'll spend 80% of your time your first year in the office just figuring out their 50 databases and time sheet records. They consider "remediation" to be *hand*-bailing petroleum of the ground. (In case you're wondering it's like bailing an OCEAN with a 5-gallon bucket) And NO, you probably won't see the science behind it all when you're all done with your 60-70+ hour/week project in the field (basically working as a technician). I told Kleinfelder I was accepted to grad school but decided I couldn't go after my boss told me we'd have to start working Saturdays on top of our 60+ hour/week schedules (NO they don't pay overtime or give you any sort of comp time, or even THANK you) . They said "oh great, were a career-oriented company". If you don't see the *blatant* irony in this then go ahead and apply. Other than that, the junior staff is *exceptional* and a ton of fun, but they will find jobs at companies that ACTUALLY deserve them and won't be around long. The management on the other hand *leaves MUCH to be desired*. And that's the polite way of putting it. I was honest about exactly what I wanted out of a new job in my interview and they lied to my face and then fired me for being exactly what I said I was going to be. And that is: *NOT a workaholic**. But whatever. They can go home to their cats every night. YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER. Oh and the office that I have worked out of had about 15 people when I got there and in the year that I worked there, SEVEN people have left or have been fired. Say what you want, but I think that speaks for itself. Oh and HR won't do a damn thing if your manager lies out his butt about things you never actually did wrong.

Pros

Gained a lot of experience in the field Thorough onboarding and training Covered a required certification process Will help immensely for my future Overall, friendly and helpful employees

Cons

6:30 a.m. start time was a tough adjustment, but I ultimately got used to it. I did cry at the end of my time there, because I knew I would miss the people.

Pros

- lovely coworkers - some really cool projects since Kleinfelder wins lots of different types of projects! thankfully i had good relationships with the project managers, but peers that don't have a long history don't have enough work flow or don't get to work on projects they want to - very caring boss - flexible work from home policy

Cons

- incredibly repetitive sometimes - inconsistent work and stress related to staying billable - drab and uninspiring workplace energy - lots of non-optional travel - anyone other than my boss and direct peers was not caring - it's all just a bit corporate and no one is really in love with what they're doing - barely got raises consistent with inflation
