Pros

I'm really happy here. My favorite thing about this company is the people. Everyone is really bright, down-to-earth, open and friendly -- and always happy to help you out or share their knowledge on a given topic. If you ever thought the retirement industry was dry, you have yet to see the passion Kravitz employees have for their areas of expertise! Great company culture. The company is quick to adopt new technologies, open to new ideas, direction and process improvement, and quick to pivot when pivoting is the right choice. Leadership takes a long view of our industry and the forces that affect it; you can feel confident that you're working for a stable company that will be around for many years to come. The work at home program is available to most positions throughout the firm and demonstrates that the company has a high level of trust in its employees. They also invest in the tools we need to get the job done -- all staff have 3 monitors and workstations are provided for work at home employees. We get to work on an excellent mission of helping people achieve the financial freedom to retire, and helping companies create a meaningful benefit for their employees. For a small company, they really work like a large company in terms of being organized, having helpful written procedures and offering great benefits. Also, the CEO takes a lot of joy in choosing a holiday gift for staff each year -- usually some cutting edge technology thing, like Apple watches, etc. It's not something he has to do, but the fact that he really likes to and is so generous about it is a real feel-good thing. (Also my friends and family can't believe it.)

Cons

Not many. If you are accustomed to a large company, working here may require adjusting your expectations. There are opportunities to get your hands on a lot of projects, help shape the company and glean new experience, but you will also have to roll up your sleeves and work hard -- there is not a lot of redundancy of positions. Also, everyone here is really smart, so it can sometimes be hard to keep up, and there's a learning curve when you get started. But you will always be challenged and able to learn from the people around you. Lastly, being a multi-state employer is great, but wish there were more opportunities for our coworkers outside of CA to visit. Webcam and intranet help with that part of the culture though,

Pros

Nice office, some job positions are able to work remotely, and free sodas.

Cons

Clique-ish, poor opportunity for advancement, and available vacation times are blocked off six months of the year while still having to compete with other employees to get vacation time approved so it is even less. Employees usually do not stay with the company long and pursue other opportunities (over half my department left before I finally did). The company culture is horrible; one employee pillaged my cubical the first week she started working there (just like Office Space's "That's my red stapler"), another kicked me when i was on ground and on two separate occasions kicked my chair hard and deliberate while working, both of whom still work for the company.
