Pros

Kyna offers flexible working hours, allowing you to create a schedule that suits your availability. Their booking system efficiently matches you with students based on your chosen time slots, so securing classes isn’t usually difficult. The company provides teaching materials such as PowerPoint presentations and lesson plans, which helps streamline lesson preparation. Real-time income tracking is a nice touch, and while the pay isn't exceptional, it's fair for the nature of the work.

Cons

Class cancellations—either by students or the company—are a regular occurrence, often happening daily. Most of these are unpaid, especially if canceled in advance, and there's no guarantee of receiving a replacement booking. Some company policies, particularly regarding teacher cancellations, lack clarity. While penalties are clearly outlined for cancellations made within 24 hours or exceeding 10 per month, the consequences for cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance (and within the allowed limit) remain vague. When asked, the support team responded with, “a penalty may be applied depending on the case,” which leaves room for uncertainty. Additionally, technical issues during class may not always be supported adequately, and last-minute bookings can occur, requiring you to be ready to teach with minimal notice.

Pros

- Flexible Scheduling - Vietnamese are generally more well-behaved and have stronger English skills than mainland Chinese students - Expanding Market Potential: Recently added Thai students - Ability to decline students you don't want to teach - No parent evaluations (that I'm aware of)

Cons

- TERRIBLE Platform Issues: Their web-based app is a homegrown headache - Phone App is also problematic and error-prone - SUPER LOW pay: $7 USD + $1 for "completed" classes for Native Teachers with advanced degrees - POOR Service: Firemans are sporadic in platforms; poor service level for teachers; frequent accounting errors in pay -10% Income Tax (no other Vietnamese Teaching Company charges this for foreign teachers/highly suspect)
