Pros

Monthly online CEU Courses. Corporate emails from president and administration at least twice a week. Uses Home Care Home Base on Software Tablet PCs.

Cons

Too many tasks fall on too few people. Depersonalization of the communication process between the office, field staff and Outcomes Coordinator while reducing administrative staffing to levels where much of the responsibility for accurate charting falls on the field clinician. LHC appears to have cut costs by putting more responsibility on the field staff while increasing quota requirements. Communication at the local office leads to missed information that field staff need prior to seeing patients. Too many late nights completing visits due to a large number of visits and not enough staff.

Pros

Autonomy, days go by quick, expectations are defined.

Cons

Unmanageable workload/cases. Expected to fulfill number of points per week. Charting beyond business hours every day. Start of care visits also included hands on care. One visit took 3 hours because of 8 wounds and that didn’t include documentation. Oasis is tedious and comprehensive. Territory was supposed to be 10 minutes from home; it was not. Sometimes 45 minutes between each case with 5-6 cases for the day. Totally unmanageable for a seasoned and organized nurse. I cannot imagine how it would be for a less experienced nurse. Overworked and overwhelmed my entire time. I learned a lot from training modules but then you’re out on your own to troubleshoot. Unless you’re willing to hustle every single day and are willing to chart during dinner time and then still take time to confirm next day’s appointments, stay away.
