Pros

When I joined, this felt like a dream job. The culture was energetic, collaborative, and welcoming. Leadership appeared open to new ideas and diverse perspectives. There was genuine excitement around the mission and the creator space.

Cons

Over time, the environment shifted dramatically. What was once open and collaborative has become tense and dismal. Passive-aggressive behavior, corporate politics, subtle micro-aggressions, and a general “walk on eggshells” atmosphere is the new reality. Layoffs have become frequent, nearly quarterly. With each reorganization, remaining employees are expected to absorb more work with fewer resources but higher expectations. Every month there's a new priority / focus / push and execution is usually chaotic. Work life balance is poor. Burnout is widespread, and many employees are staying solely out of fear of the current job market rather than belief in the company’s direction. Compensation is not competitive, and most employees do not receive equity. Benefits are underwhelming compared to industry standards. Upper management often feels disingenuous and operates in self-preservation mode. Constructive feedback is discouraged unless it’s surface-level. Company surveys are purely performative. Advancement opportunities are limited unless you're a "yes-person" and navigate what feels like a tight inner circle. Leadership appears increasingly disconnected - not only from employees, but from the creator industry itself. Rather than modernizing the platform and addressing long-standing product issues and creator complaints, the focus seems extremely reactive: rolling out half-baked features and defensive programs aimed at competitors, mainly ShopMy. Creators are leaving for stronger affiliate platforms, yet internal teams are pressured to repeatedly pursue them through excessive follow-ups and incentives. It feels more like damage control than innovation.

Pros

For a while, it was fun place to work and get to know some interesting coworkers (not any more)

Cons

Your prospects at the company depend on how well you kiss the ring of your superior. One person could barely work and get promoted; the other person could work long hours but get every credit stolen. The engineering VPs are not good leaders, especially the ex-meta ones. They have ZERO vision, no talent, can't play, can't coach, and quick to blame their team for their own failures. The company has been doing re-org and layoff frequently in the last two years. Morale is at all time low.
