Best Job Ever - School Garden Coordinator Lagunitas School Employee Review

Lagunitas is a small rural school in a beautiful natural setting. Teachers have freedom and support to present creative curriculum.

Students are tough on substitute teachers. The boys bathroom is vandalized repeatedly.

The school has a great community and very caring teachers. I worked here and lived in the community for years and loved both dearly. I'm very divided on my rating, I would easily give 5 stars if management ever changed for the better.

Unfortunately the school is horribly mismanaged, the current administration is much more interested in presenting the image of a caring environment than actually harboring it. Their response toward the COVID-19 pandemic has been especially poor and half-hearted. Instead of listening to the teachers and staff they clearly are more focused on a return to "normality" even if it means lowering safety protocols and allowing staff and children to get infected with the deadly disease. When I left, I was receiving notifications every day about new infections throughout the school, sometimes several times a day. But the management was still more concerned with lowering mask mandates and removing contact tracing for the sake of presenting normality. During the whole pandemic, the school did only one testing on campus.
