Pros
- Remote work - As long as you're in PDT or EST. - Engineer first - Lots of engineers, very few managers, designers, product etc. - Lumpsum HSA - They offer low 4 figures of medical pay. No insurance.
Cons
- Remote isolation - By design, they have kept things such that no one knows what their colleagues are working on. So when they let go of people, no one knows what really happened. - Gaslighting - As the other reviewers have rightly pointed out, they send special mails and messages to you on slack, saying how good your work is. Then the moment the project ends, if there's no other project, you are on the chopping block. - Burnout - Working 10-12 hours a day is a common thing. If you don't work that much, next thing you are in a call with HR with the same "We only want CEO Founders in our company" pre-recorded bit before firing. - Unlimited leave - Anything more than a few days and they ask you to go on "unpaid" leave. No leave can be encashed upon leaving. - International trips - Just one single trip in 4 years of existence, that too was delayed by 8 months(counting eggs before they hatch as rightly pointed out by another reviewer). Only for people living in Toronto and Vancouver. Rest all, sorry you are out of budget. - Questionable Ethics - If you see the other positive reviews, they have a similar pattern of great things followed by "improve processes" and making snide remarks of people who know "React and React Native" - No genuine engineer will ever do that.
