Pros

there is no direct superior working with you closely (physically)

Cons

- settled for a new ops manager who is not qualified with low IQ and EQ and zero common sense - no room for professional growth, doesn't take initiative to let their staff upskill - will keep doing the same marketing strategy even if it doesn't work - a lot of redundant admin tasks, time could have been spent turning leads to sales - will turn a blind eye on the inefficiency of their CRM because they will not be directly inconvenienced anyway - doesn't do quality check on their teachers' teaching and materials - doesn't foster teamwork, practices comparison of staff to promote "competition" - will add new "technology" that ends up giving more burden on the people actually working on the ground - believes that one "SOP" will fit all, fails to give consideration to students who deserve it but will bow down to the demanding ones - availing of your right to take leave is painful, Mng't is hellbent on saving money, they won't hire permanent staff to step in if you are on leave but will rely on part-time employees who come and go, there are different times of the year that you cannot go on leave too as it is peak season -will not pay you mandatory OT monetarily but will allow you to use OT as time off, and you can hardly take time off too unless the part-time staff is available - "fired" their employees because the owners said they have been losing money for 2 consecutive years and they wanna close down the business when the numbers have been okay so far despite it slowed down. No proof given that they were actually losing money. Instead of giving performance bonus towards the end of the year, they announced that their staff will be jobless instead, without any compensation/retrenchment benefits - they said they will close but they are still operating now, did they just wanna get rid of some staff? avoid giving bonus? adapt a new business model? who knows?

Pros

Hands off bosses, classroom teaching is left to you to do what you want

Cons

Company is changing owners/shut down at the end of this year without any retrenchment benefits, staff that are not continuing are not told with any clarity etc.
