Pros
It's a good part time job. It takes a lot of training to feel competent at it, and it's not very repetitive because you are always problems solving and fiddling with glasses to make them look their best, or improve the prescription. Hours are pretty flexible. I like my bosses and co-workers, everyone is very friendly and helpful. I look forward to going into work most days :) Paid time off on holidays, and eye care benefits for part-time employees!
Cons
Since I've worked there we've constantly been understaffed, and staff is under-experienced. I'm lucky to have a manager who has been in the business forever, but LensCrafters has a bad habit of hiring incompetent managers, who haven't had enough optical experience. Can be high stress, working in the lab you're always on a time crunch, but that makes it more exciting too, and the days are never boring :) Retail weekend and late hours are never very fun.
