Pros

It's a great place to learn the basics about publishing, and Lerner does produce some really amazing books. Things can get hairy when it's time to wrap up the season, but the overall work/life balance is pretty good.

Cons

Compensation is terrible. There also aren't very many opportunities for advancement, and any attempt at professional development is on your own dime.

Pros

The marketing team and its VP are the best folks I've had the pleasure of working with in my professional career. There is a lot of trust coming from the VP as well as their publicist that really grants ownership of projects and tasks. They freely allow you to work from home and they offer very flexible hours. As an intern, they allowed me to prioritize my class schedule and work around it. The management is very caring and always made sure I was learning something.

Cons

It was a temporary internship! I would have stayed in the marketing department if granted the opportunity, there were no positions vacant at the time of my internship ending. It is a slightly small team, which can be a problem if workload increases but everyone is very understanding.
