Pros

Great members for the most part, beautiful facilities, free membership and discounts on food and services are great. The food in the cafe is very good for you. Thankfully, the Westwood, MA club seems to be turning a new leaf with its new management. From what I've heard, turnover numbers there have gone way down since the old leadership was removed and sent to a nearby new club where nobody knew them and they could start with a clean slate. Unfortunately that leadership totally destroyed the company's reputation in the greater Westwood area, though Corporate has started taking steps to repair it by installing management that possesses common sense and demonstrable credibility aside from their job title and length of tenure with the company. I hope for LTF’s sake that the new management treats people with respect and decency because the facility is absolutely gorgeous and otherwise worthy of every penny people pay to use it.

Cons

It is said that people leave people, not jobs. That’s exactly what I did. As an experienced, 35-year professional in an unrelated field who worked a part-time job there for the free membership and some extra spending money, I was absolutely and thoroughly appalled by the lack of empathy with which the Westwood club was run by upper management at the time. The flesh-and-blood definition of micromanagement - compulsively obsessed with policy & procedure/"SOP", the "Life Time way" and never willing to think outside the box or trust employees to get things done on their own. This slowed things down considerably and resulted in hundreds of canceled memberships, a sky-high employee turnover rate, and other things that I’d rather not speak about. Suffices to say that there was a pretty hefty corporate slush fund that Westwood had to dip into several times to quell bad PR and media attention after certain incidents took place. Upper management spoke down to and treated both employees and members like children. The dynamics of working in Westwood while I was there were in no way, shape or form conducive to the supposed "Healthy Way of Life" that the company touts its employees enjoy.

Pros

Free Membership Cool employees Discounts on services

Cons

They don’t pay anything, and the CEO should honestly be ashamed. If employees were paid properly, there wouldn’t be so much drama and tension in the workplace. Communication is terrible because management doesn’t even seem to care — probably because they’re getting crumbs too. Spa management was dreadful, and the demotion was necessary. How do you fail to have people booked during major holidays when the money and clientele are clearly there? There was no structure, no leadership, and no motivation for employees to succeed. Having a successful spa for 3 years and coming into this environment I was not impressed. No growth, no support, no appreciation. Loved the members tho! And S/O to Leemar, Virgil and Dr. Hayden love them down!
