Pros

club access and thats about it

Cons

Let me first say I've worked in the fitness industry for over a decade and I have never in my career felt so disrespected and devalued by any company. After two years of working part time as an instructor at LT, I was told that some of my other work outside of LT - which I had since before working there and was transparent on my resume - was suddenly a conflict of interest, so I was forced to drop some of my classes. Myself and several other instructors sustained injury due to poor construction at one of the clubs; management cared more about making sure we didn't say anything about it to members than making sure we were okay. I was told there weren't opportunities for me to pick up more classes, meanwhile other instructors were getting opportunities; there is no transparency here, only favoritism of their few pet inner circle instructors. Good luck if you ever wanted to talk to a manager, because 9 times out of 10 they just straight up would not respond to your messages. Despite trying to pick up more classes, I was terminated due to "inactivity" - no conversation, no email, no phone call to notify me. From start to finish, it was poor communication, poor organization, and unprofessionalism from management and corporate both. It was an open joke among instructors that this is a soulless, corporate hellhole where only the most useless, mindless, yes-men succeed. You can see this in corporate policy that values their bottom line way more than actual job performance: for example, they pushed us to sell supplements to the point that we wouldn't be eligible for an annual raise if we didn't sell any. It's a shame because the midwestern corporate team has access to some of the worlds best instructors here in NYC and would have so much potential for success if only they treated us right, but unfortunately, in my experience I was only treated as expendable.

Pros

Members are great and free membership is a perk. Coworkers are supportive.

Cons

You will be micromanaged to death, whether you have three weeks of experience or 20 years. Policies are vague. Communication with leadership is poor. You can be a strong, experienced performer and have very few classes, or brand new and get 8 a week. There appears to be no logic or strategy to anything that happens.
