Retention fluctuates dramatically, which means when times are bad (which I'd say is maybe six months or longer out of the year,) longer hours, increased workload, and newer staff that need to be trained to rise to a good level. Full training takes four months or so, but full competency can take up to a year.
Compensation often feels lacking for the workload & mandatory overtime.
Higher ups do not often listen to the needs of the technicians unless it comes directly from a manager or director.
Morale is often kinda depressing.
