Pros
I enjoyed my time at a Target Portrait Studio through Lifetouch. You learn a lot about sales, basic posing, and interacting with customers. On slower days, you had opportunities to be more creative. On busy days, you have to go really quick but it is surprising how much you can get done in 15 minutes. When I worked there, there was a very small commission bonus for selling the highest package. I worked with great management, but I did hear about other locations where that was not the case.
Cons
You don't really learn about photography skills other than simple poses and angles. Some of the suggestions are outdated. There are days that you get difficult kids but you can usually manage to get something. You do go through a sales pitch but I don't think it was pushy, just a good workflow to encourage higher sales.
