Pros
The pay was good for a day shift position. Plus you receive compensation for gas and mileage put on your car. Overtime was approved. I enjoyed visiting patients in their homes. There isn't much else that was good about this job. The center manager was good at the center I worked at but the management above her were very difficult to deal with.
Cons
This is a numbers based company and even the healthcare specialist is expected to get oxygen sales, amongst other sales (nebs, unit dose, Trilogy machines; etc). I felt like I couldn't properly care for my patients due to being pushed to focus primarily on finding patients who did not already have oxygen and get them on oxygen so we could meet our sales quota for the week. I also felt like the company did not care about the individual workers or what the patients needed. Everything revolved around sales, sales, sales. Most of the time I was expected to follow leads as opposed to taking care of my patients. There was way too much work for one person also. I was driving 1800-2000 miles on average each month to visit patients, then I also had ordering, repair services, computer documentation, and paperwork to deal with. Upper management was a nightmare to deal with. Nothing was ever good enough. It was an extremely stressful job.
