Pros

I was so hopeful entering into my position as an MSA. I was told about how flexible they were, how much they encouraged family first, and so much more including a positive work culture. It’s true in any other department but not Member Support.

Cons

It hard to even start at one point because so many negative things happened in my time here. In the member support department you’re luck if you get 2 weeks of PTO for the entire year and if they don’t like you they will always give you a hard time about the PTO you have taken. Unlimited PTO does not exist for MSAs. Good luck being able to even take off for illness or a doctors appointment. The day I ended up in the ER for illness, I was warned if it happened again that I would most likely be fired. Any absence even a medical emergency for yourself no matter how life threatening that was not pre approved gets you in trouble because you missed work without approved PTO. I was always told that lively offered a work life balance. However, after being given a later shift I asked for an earlier shift because I’m a single parent. I was told no and instead offered the latest shift. The next issue I experience was being asked to not be as productive or good at my job because it wasn’t fair to my coworkers and they might feel bad about how productive I am. I was the top ranking MSA for stats my entire time there. However, my own leadership encouraged me to take another position I was offered for another company because I would never get any opportunities at lively. If I wasn’t perfect to the daily changing expectations, I was treated pretty awfully. Oh and to top it all off HR didn’t do anything or even help. I wished for far more. Two of three managers have no idea how to be a manager and can not even be proficient in their own Q&A. Senior leadership in the member support department will get rid of anyone who they feel is too smart and will be able to achieve more than they are capable of as I watched it happen countless times. Lastly after finally being able to get an earlier shift, I was late once and communicated that I was going to be late to my manager due to unforeseen circumstances, I was told that the shift I was on was earned and if I was late again they would take it away regardless of my achievements and work ethic. To top it all off one of the senior leaders told and lied to others in the company about why one person was fired when in reality they wrongfully fired the individual. If I go back, it would be because a complete change of leadership or because I was in a different department.

Pros

Great senior leadership & co-founder culture. Fun company to work for, growing and very focused on customer experience

Cons

There is a certain mid manager that is a true culture vulture. Be warned.
