Pros
Personally I really enjoy my role at Locala. I've been here almost 6 years and worked my way up. There is lots of room for internal progression and new opportunities but you do need to work hard.
I have a really supportive manager and I get opportunities to explore other areas of the business and support important changes.
The pay is reasonable but can sometimes take a while to get to the top of your banding but this is set as NHS agenda for change. We also get great holiday entitlement, occasionally vouchers as a thank you, and various benefits.
I would 100% recommend a friend or family member to join Locala.
Cons
There are always a lot of changes with higher management and re structuring so it does unsettle the workforce.
I feel we've had a year or two of a lot of big changes and in turn we've lost some colleagues who have been in locala for years, so it's definitely affected many people.
Car parking isn't free in most sites so this will certainly put some people off.
There are sometimes unnecessary meetings which could be easily be reduced but with it being a big organisation with so many different areas, I think it's hard to pro actively manage communications.
Some systems and processes are behind the times and some re investment into these would make colleagues and patients life so much easier.
A lot of internal roles are full time with not much flexibility, which I feel shuts off a high percentage of applicants, as some really great candidates might miss out because they want to work 4 days or less hours. Sometimes there's not enough flexibility around this.
