Pros
I've worked for the company for a few months, and it I can confidently say that making the move to Loomis is the best employment decision that I have made in my life so far. My coworkers and leadership always push to make me succeed. I enjoy interacting with my customers, working with machines and being challenged to quickly solve problems in a manner that ensures that we deliver a high degree of customer services.
Cons
There are some cons to working at Loomis. Certain lifestyles will struggle to balance work with life, as emergency stops can be added to the end of your route, depending on time, making your day a bit longer. It is difficult to make plans for after work because you never know when things are going to go wrong and extend your already lengthy route . There are also some policy changes that many of our ASTs would like to see implemented to improve quality of life and employee safety. These are weapon-mounted lights and drop-leg holsters (referred to in company policy as "tactical holsters"), which allow us to illuminate an attacker in dark environments and also draw our duty weapon more smoothly under stress. Both pistol-mounted lights and drop-leg holsters are in common use in law enforcement because they add versatility to officers' equipment and enhance their safety. The same can be said about red dot optics, as they allow faster target acquisition and can also be beneficial to older employees with aging eyes, who may not be able to acquire a sight picture as well with iron sights.
