Pros
They'll pay you for services (most of the time).
Cons
Lorien are a pointless middleman between the employee and the the employment agency, which would not be too bad if they weren't grossly inefficient. When end clients issue extensions to contracts its approved by the agency, but Lorien would always take weeks to catch up, and this resulted several times in contracts expiring before renewal. Their handling of IR35 has been spectacularly awful and offered zero protection from shady practices by the agency and end clients. Also leaving it right up to the last second. No duty of care shown. Their core PSL of umbrella companies is a joke and they are expensive. 14 day turn around on invoices within their the PSL, but if you choose outside the PSL its 45 days before an invoice is paid. Its a rigged game so that they get a discount or a commision on you. Constantly unable to get in contact with them, be it invoice/contract related or general questions. Often you just have to get the end client to pressure them into a response. They will hound you however, if they have any question. You're just a number to them.
