Pros
Top management is idealistic, says you need to serve the customer at all cost. They allow 1st level managers to punish their best people for wanting to do their jobs and follow the union contract, while top management (with their golden perks) pretend everything is great.
Cons
Top management enables 1st line managers to set up employees for failure, then backstab to eliminate those who do not suck up, and fill those jobs with relatives, friends, and people they have slept with. Benefits are less than before (and sinking), and employees are now required to pay health insurance for their families, where 7 years ago it was covered. Employees are afraid. The union contract is worthless except for pay. Union officers are in bed with management. They pretend members have union rights, but they refuse to act, and it takes years of expensive and drawn out lawsuits in the courts outside the company to enforce union rights. In the end you will lose the case. Union officers use harassment and intimidation to help their friends and relatives, and everyone else has to fall in line and take it, and/or be demoted or fired.
