Pros

- not many pros other than if you really really need the money and job experience but remember this comes with many cons

Cons

Worked here for a few months, first office to open to North America - Toronto office. You are always being micromanaged and watched 24/7 by other staff in China, pays really low wages for your degree & credentials, management in Toronto office (there are 4 managers here that are very problematic) are really unprofessional in the way they handle and speak to staff, many human rights issues here, all decisions are shaped and influenced by China when they claim the headquarters are in Switzerland. Working here is like a sweatshop, they expect you to be chained to your desk and work nonstop and they have high monthly quotas which pushes people to work to their maximum and if you don't meet their quotas, they threaten you with termination. They have threatened people with termination for almost anything, super high turnover rate in the months I have worked here. Almost 3-4 people quit every 2-3 weeks. People are treated horrendously and I am quite surprised as to how they are still up and running and not shut down, especially for being in Canada, a lot of what I saw in this company was unacceptable for a Canadian work environment. Stay far away from MDPI - the company doesn't have a great reputation to begin with, if you google the company it is clearly a company that has had many issues in the past. Working for this company is no different. This Toronto office needs to be reported to Ministry of Labour or the Ontario Labour Relations Board.

Pros

My experience with MDPI has been great. Their staff is professional and organized, and there's no shadiness in regards to pay. They provide training and English Editing guides, and there is room for advancement in the company.

Cons

Training was brief; however, sources and trainer are available beyond the training period.
