Pros

Basically a fully remote position, only requiring to visit the office once every couple of months. Pay is slightly higher than other small companies.

Cons

Unorganized leadership, very cliquey, and high employee turnover. Lack of training and upper management is quick to point the finger to get blame off of themselves. Management tells team to not talk on client calls and to “stop talking” Leadership has severe fluctuations in attitude and mood where it feels like walking on eggshells at times. Will get incredibly upset if they receive a message asking for assistance or to review work if they are actively working. Overall not a very professional work environment. There is also no HR.

Pros

I worked at this company for 13 years with my roles spanning from Graphic Design Intern at the start, all the way up to Creative Director when I left – so I can easily say that there's tremendous opportunity for career growth here, even within such a small company. By the time I left, I had reached my ceiling and wanted to try working within an agile product design team. The professional growth that I achieved while working at MESH has since been instrumental to my success in my recent role within a Fortune 500 corporate environment. The time spent working here was fun, fast paced, and challenging in ways that I never even knew would be beneficial to my career in corporate until I dove headfirst into this new environment. I was able to learn so much over those 13 years in a very collaborative space, and attribute much of my design and management skills to my long tenure at MESH.

Cons

The two cons that I can think of for working here are only cons if you don't appreciate (and want) what this type of working environment can do for your personal and professional growth. A con to some may be the fast paced environment and the amount of projects you have the ability to touch in a day, week, or month. But for me, this was a pro… and I specifically chose to work in an environment like this straight out of college because I wanted to expedite my learning, as well as never get bored of the work I was doing. The only other con that I can think of is also subjective. At times the work was very challenging, but it forced me to think big, venture outside of the box creatively, and exercise my attention to detail muscle in every way. These skills are invaluable, and something that I see missing in a lot of people at my current company. I was encouraged to become the best possible version of myself at MESH, and I'm a better design leader for my team now because of it – so for that I am grateful!

Pros

Working at MESH has provided me with several opportunities for career growth. For example, the company incentivizes growth by offering a permanent pay raise upon finishing an (approved) certification program. You also have an option to work remotely here. 100% remote. But with that, it's your responsibility to have the internal motivation and discipline to succeed.

Cons

The expectations provided for given assignments may be unclear at times, especially for new hires, but this can be mitigated by being precise in subsequent follow-up questions.
