Business outlook
Pros
Everyone at MIT is excited about the ongoing research going on in their labs and others at the institute. Collaboration is a positive, whether it is among students taking a class or labs doing research together. This is especially true for the Biological Engineering Department (Course 20), where the interdisciplinary subject matter benefits from students and faculty from diverse backgrounds working together in close collaboration.
Cons
The campus is "quirky" at best and drearily industrial at worst. The libraries are nothing to brag about, and the student-body ammenties and facilities are unimpressive. MIT is not a liberal arts school; science/engineering research and coursework are by far the most important assets of the institute.
