Pros

MakerSquare is a wonderful organization. It's very obvious they care about their students and staff. Their mission of changing lives through education, graduating excellent software developers as well as exceptional individuals is an easy one to get behind. MKS also takes great care of their staff. They recognize the value of training, feedback, goal setting, and motivating their employees which you do not get at every job and important when considering a career. Every staff member is there because they genuinely care about their work, their team, their students, and the overall goals of the organization. I would definitely recommend working at MKS to anyone interested in a challenging, rewarding career that is truly changing how education is provided.

Cons

There are very few and not worth mentioning as they are subjective.

Pros

Many companies will tell you, that which any potential employee would want to hear; that the organization truly cares about their people. They indicate that their employees are investments, rather than costs, and intimate further, that "they" are more of a family than a business. Harsh Patel, CEO of MakerSquare, genuinely embodies what it means to be a caring and conscientious manager, treating his employees as members of an extended educational family. I began at MakerSquare, as a student in their November 2014 Cohort ( a 12 week session ). Being unemployed before attending, I was open to virtually any opportunity to contribute to a successful enterprise. Without a hint of exaggeration, accepting an offer and working at MakerSquare has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. After working with the next class of students as a Teaching Assistant, I applied to work in the Admissions Department. Coming to work everyday never feels quite like work, and my coworkers have become lifelong friends. Harsh Patel and MakerSquare truly know how to foster a community of warmth and excitement. Working at MakerSquare, means interacting with a hand-selected group of individuals, all of whom are striving to better themselves. Our students come from backgrounds as dynamic as the JavaScript taught in the classroom; from designers to theoretical mathematicians. If you want the ability to be excited about coming to work, in a "more-windows-than-walls" hotel, in Downtown Austin, then I highly recommend seeking employment with MKS.

Cons

Working at MakerSquare can be very fast paced, and may not be ideal for people wishing to avoid a dynamic work environment.
