Higher-ups laid off staff like they were nothing when COVID happened. I have also seen others get their positions eliminated suddenly with little/no explanation before this. You must be very self-driven, able to solve problems yourself to succeed here (this could be considered a pro), and support (which was outsourced) can be very little help at times.
