Pros

The world of agencies is changing fast and it feels like Marcel is very much in the game. The CEO continues to push for more innovation across all departments and while that sometimes can be uncomfortable, I believe it helps position us in a way that many agencies are currently strugging with.

Cons

With four different service lines, and each of those being impacted by changes in the industry all in different ways, can sometimes feel like there are too many things to focus on at the same time.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful response. Couldn't agree more with all of your points. As challenging as it is to run a business like ours, how impressive is a firm completing 2025 forecasting in Q4 2024, and landing within .5% of that forecast after closing the books in January 2026. That is 100% a testament to level of skill and capability of the team at Marcel. I fully realize anyone can say their team is the best. I have evidence.

Pros

The company has a tight-knit group of highly productive and self-sufficient individuals who are likely to thrive in any environment. This is one reason why Marcel Digital's web development work is award-winning, with multiple clients receiving industry recognition. The office has a friendly atmosphere, and lunch is often catered. The office address listed on their website and Google Maps is merely a facade. Expect to work in a shared networking space where you must reserve a desk before each visit. Marcel Digital makes a bold effort to maintain its culture and expand their professional network through regular team outings and philanthropic initiatives. These activities are well-documented and shared on their social media and blog channels.

Cons

Onboarding at the company was somewhat unconventional. Don't expect any company videos or formal training such as standard operating procedures. The entire onboarding process was conversation-based without any branded documents. While the knowledge management and project management systems in place are minimal, there's a strict requirement to log all daily activities. This serves to track billable hours for clients rather than support project workflow. While it's claimed that this isn't intended to micromanage employees, the requirement to submit hours at the end of each workday gave me a different impression.

Thank you very much for proving this feedback! At Marcel we truly believe feedback is a blessing and we take it very seriously. We do have dozens of formal process documents however we have not yet cracked the code on how to organize in a more optimal way than the folder structure where they are currently stored in Drive. We are researching if there is a better way to organize leveraging AI. Your comment promoted this work, so thank you very much! Marcel Digital University is our training curriculum, it is largely conversational, and designed to create 1 on 1 conversations for new employees. I'm sorry time tracking felt like micromanagement. That is definitely not our intention. You are correct, we do ask that everyone at Marcel track their time. Many times, when an agency does not require time tracking, they inadvertently create a chaotic work environment. We are working very hard to avoid the situations that create undue stress and aggravation. Thank you very much for your input! We're already putting it to good work.
