Pros

There were no pros to speak of.

Cons

Marketing on behalf of hate groups such as ADF Alliance Defending Freedom. The same group that has made it legal to refuse service to queer people. Pay was absolutely terrible. The training was non existent. Stay far far away.

Masterworks Response

Masterworks wants to hire team members who are looking for purposeful work and are passionate about our clients. When there is a mismatch between the employee and their role or the clients they work with, team members may find it difficult to give 100% and may feel conflicted. The work and the clients are not for everyone. We let potential employees know, from the beginning, who our clients are and strongly encourage them to research the clients. Masterworks bases compensation on the average to higher average in comparison to other agencies who work in the same market. You are correct that our training needed to be expanded. Masterworks listened to the team members and has put a lot of time and energy into building out the training program. We have a detailed onboarding and orientation process with a combination of in-person and recorded training for new team members to attend. We would greatly appreciate connecting with you to learn about the "bullies in management", as bullying is not acceptable at any level in an organization. The title of Account Associate is not a title that has been used at Masterworks for 3+ years so it would seem it has been more than 3 years since your employment ended. Many things have changed in the past 3 years, and we continually strive to grow and improve.

Pros

Smart coworkers, genuinely. The tech stack wasn't embarrassing — gold star.

Cons

There was no coherent ML strategy, or it changed every quarter, which is functionally the same thing. You'd get deep into a project, build something real, and then leadership would shift focus and it quietly gets shelved with no explanation. Feedback cycles showed up either way too late or not at all. Requests came in from people who clearly didn't understand what they were asking for, and there was no real structure for having that conversation. The misalignment between what the business said it wanted and what it actually resourced was constant and exhausting.
