Pros
You are indoors and can sit most of the time. Sometimes you have a positive interaction with a child which feels fulfilling but they are so rare due to systemic issues at my center.
Cons
First, I worked my first training shift 35 days ago and have not been paid despite contacting leadership repeatedly. Additionally, my center director does not care about the center running well or operations at all. She is also passive aggressive and talks to instructors as if they are children. She will telemarket and I suppose do other marketing work but could care less if a kid is going wild in the center and you have 3 other kids you are trying to work with. They care about signing people up and then it is on you and whichever other instructor they schedule to run the whole show. Most of the kids are stubborn or downright angry about being there, and can be quite rude. Management provides no help or advice on dealing with the 80% of children who refuse to do any work or disrupt / insult the other children. It is clear that to leadership all that matters is getting people signed up and helping children have a positive experience and learning math skills is not a priority in the least.
