Pros
1. The people. I truly enjoy collaborating with the people I work with. I do not feel micromanaged. 2. Skill development. My manager/VP regularly asks about new responsibilities/growth areas to help me succeed. 3. Accessibility/transparency. The company values transparency, and I feel comfortable if I need to contact anyone at any management level. 4. Benefits - low-cost health care & unlimited PTO. I have young kids and can easily prioritize work-life balance, and I work remotely (in office a few times a year) & have been with the company for almost 3 years.
Cons
It is a tech-based startup, so you need to be willing to adapt to changes quickly. There are always new projects and quick turnaround (which could be a pro if you're good at adaptability & prioritization). Also, the insurance market is constantly fluctuating & is tough right now. I wish there was a 401k match.
