Pros

Free coffee Free chocolate Constant aircon, perfect on hot days

Cons

Extremely understaffed ,always . 90% of employees consist of under 18's still in school or studying leaving the few other staff to work 5-7 days straight , with clopening shifts . No training is provided. You are expected to hit the ground running . Any " training" is online modules which they demand you need to complete in your own personal time ( not paid ) not at work on shift . "Training" may also consist of a booklet of recipes and drinks , most of which are incorrect and outdated . If you ask for help for a recipe you are pointed towards the book . You are on your own. Inconsistent shifts . On PT 8 hours a week minimum. The next week you'll be working 42 hours . The week after 8 hours . 6 month probation. No matter FT, PT or casual . For any reason you can wake up with your contract terminated even after working 40+ hours a week for 5 months. Impossible grooming standards . No tattoos at all ( ANY MUST be covered at all times ) no unnatural coloured hair ( including Henna red and bleach ) no facial hair for men, full beards are an exception. Black pants only ( NO JEANS ) black socks only , black shirts only ( No collars are allowed unless you are a supervisor ) Uniforms are not provided. HR does not exist.

Pros

High paced environment where you can always keep busy, especially on a night shift. Good location to other food venues for breaks. Nice location + store setup.

Cons

While I was there, i was essentially working 50+ hours per week as i was the only night shift supervisor available, 6 days a week and on call for the 7th. It was completely unsustainable and when i eventually came down with covid positive and over the 2021 floods, was harassed and expected to show up to work despite risk to my personal safety. Saving grace was that I was able to build raport with the night crew so they knew i always had their backs.
